Mr. Dove is currently managing partner of Dove Capital Partners LLC, a payments investing and consulting firm. His investing activities are focused on early-stage and growth opportunities in payments and retail financial services. His consulting activities are focused on difficult strategic questions that demand a choice, have no easy answer, require more than an analytic exercise, and must be answered in tight timeframes.

Mr. Dove’s background includes extensive consulting work in retail financial services, having founded and run the Dove Consulting Group for more than 25 years. His work and reputation in payments and financial services is extensive; he has focused on the development of enterprise and business unit strategies for leading players in this space. In addition, he has devoted significant time helping clients implement strategy, including organization changes and M&A deal structuring. During Mr. Dove’s tenure at the Dove Consulting Group, he served as President & CEO, growing the firm organically and through acquisition into one of the most well-known and respected strategy firms in payments, with offices spanning the United States and Europe. In 2002 he divested the European division to its partners and the training division to the Carlson Marketing Group. In 2005 he sold the firm to Hitachi Consulting – the U.S. consulting subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. – and became Managing Vice President of their Strategy & Organization Effectiveness and Financial Services practices.

Mr. Dove’s consulting experience includes work in all major customer-facing elements of retail banking (e.g., ATMs, internet banking), all major forms of payments (e.g., debit, credit, prepaid, mobile), and the broader strategic questions faced by banks, transaction processing companies, networks and financial services technology companies, including channel optimization, cost reduction, growth paths, and identification of acquisition opportunities. In this context, he has published articles and has spoken at several financial services industry conferences.

Mr. Dove earned his MBA from the School of Management at Boston University (1974). He also holds a Masters degree from MIT in Aeronautics and Astronautics (1971) and an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University (1969). Mr. Dove lives in Beaver Creek, Colorado with his wife, Pamela, and their daughter, Katie. He commutes to the East Coast and client locations weekly. He enjoys skiing, golf, and sports cars
